Oh gosh! having this question and feelings is not good at all…. Argghh…am not an expert in DSLR thingy..So i surely need help and need suggestion on this matter. The Question: ” should i get Canon 5D or Canon 40D DSLR to replace my Canon EOS RebelXT??” .

This is a real tough question and a decision to make. Been wondering days since i decided to replace my old Rebelxt DSLR. I know this question are very subjective and hardly answerable to anyone but i still want to ask lols but no one to answer me as of to date….so the easiest way to get my question answered is to google the net and find the answer and yes i did it again… I do not know if this fact or comment or view is accurate or good enough for me to consider them as a guide to buy my new DSLR. So maybe there is some of you guys out there is sharing the same predicament with me now.. so here is my finding:

I use both. If I had to give either one up, I don’t think it would matter much, except for the use of wide-angle lenses with the 5D. Image quality is comparable. The difference between 10 and 12 megapixels isn’t really all that much.
I’d probably go for the 40D in your situation. But I’m not sure I’d go the ebay route. Are you buying used or new?

Megapixels counts less than other things, past a certain point. The 10-12 difference is minimal. The APS-C sensor size to full frame DOES make a bigger difference, however, but it’s minimized by the advances made in technology since the 5D was introduced. I’ve read from more than one source that the 40D image quality (IQ) is very comparable to the 5D.

The 40D was just released last August and didn’t hit shelves until September. This is a new model and won’t be replaced for another year at the earliest. When the 20D was replaced with the 30D, it was a lackluster upgrade for those of us with 20D’s. Most of us just waited for the 40D.

The 5D, on the other hand, is due for a replacement. I’d be hesitant to pick that one up IF you’re insistent on remaining at the forefront of the model curve. Keep in mind that it doesn’t change how the 5D shoots, which is still an incredible IQ. Same with the 20D: it’s STILL a great camera and NOTHING has changed on it.

My $0.02. The 5D is overkill for you (it’s still over $2,000 for just the body alone, btw). By the time you get the camera, a decent lens, etc., you’ll be pushing $3,000. The 40D would be a better choice but you could do the same with the new Rebel XSi that’s arriving on store shelves in April(ish). That’s under $1,000 for 12MP and newer technologies.

Huhu well it’s 2.00am in the morning and i just couldn’t sleep! I tried to sleep as early as i can…but failed. I went to see the lovely doctor again today and she said am having minor fever.. (how come minor..feel so cold this morning…and sakit badan again..) Hmmm i guess not getting enough sleep is one of the main reason…

So now…i just named amy invention as CANIKON lols.. huhuhu…

I am currently in the middle of gathering all Sabahan photographer blogs  however as to date i  only have around 10 blog list with me which i think a very small amount of list. Been googling to find these amazing people to be listed here just to tell the world that we have a bunch of photography blogs done by sabahan photographers.
